Reflections

Experience
It has been a wonderful experience for me that I was able to learn a lot of things in this course. There might be a few hurdles along the way, but it was a good way to learn from those mistakes that have and try my best to prevent it from happening. It has also been fulfilling that I was able to create something out of ideas and able to use it for my own or others. The key artwork can be used by myself as well as the Final typeface that could be used by me or others once installed into the font system. I get to experience a sense of achievement upon finishing the typeface that I have struggled and persevered to complete.

Observation
I have observed the assignments given were a good buildup for the final boss, Final typeface. We get to understand the layouts to arrange the letters, gather inspiration around us to create letters as well as creating a typeface for true usage. I was also able to observe some of the coursemates' progress and how execute and solve the problems that they were facing. Through out the whole semester, I have observed that I have set too much pressure and expectations towards myself that sometimes I was anxious of having any attempts on my assignment. I must think realistically of the whole image of the assignment in order to enjoy the process as well as able to finish the assignment in time.

Findings
I have found that overthinking might be the worse thing that could have weigh down the progress of designing. Using too much time in analyzing the probabilities without execution could be dangerous and jeopardize the whole progress into down slope. The a good wake up call for me was the advice of simple does not mean its bad, I also have the idea of being complicated and different might be special, turns out being simple at times might be a good idea. I have neglected the idea of less is more and continued on the road of despair for myself, but luckily I was able to find the resolve into moving on and proceed with a suggested simple idea which helped me a lot.
